At 1:30 AM, two very excited young girls
were at my bedside claiming Misty had birthed her first puppy. Before
the blink of an eye, we were all in our kitchen, bleary eyed, but excited to
see Roscoe and Misty's baby.
Before long, baby two was being
expelled from her body. Such a miracle and privilege for our family to witness.

to see this miracle.
| This first video is the
darkest and hardest to see but if you want to take a peek, click on
the newborn puppy to the right. These videos will also pop up faster
on our youtube version, but the screen is a small display. So, you
can either wait for a slow download and a big picture or
and it is an instant video, but a small picture. |

And here is a video of the
last puppy being whelped. Click on the picture to the left. Look at
the beautiful mask on this little boy on the left.

the youtube version. |

As the puppies mature, their
little pink noses darken, as do their feet, so they look like a
mature dog. If you look on our puppy
collage page (click here), you will see how quickly the skin
changes. |

During the whelping process,
the female exhausts herself, so mom always has chicken broth on hand
as a treat during the process. Click on our exhausted Misty at the
left to see her taking this in during the whelp. |
| Misty is fairly good at
cleaning up each puppy as it appears, but mom does break the sac off
of some of the noses. We girls think mom just gets overly anxious.
Click on the picture on the right to see this process with a newborn
pup. Click here
for the "you tube" version. This is the clearest video. |
